It’s that time of year again! If you haven’t already, make sure to send in your $10 yearly membership fee to continue receiving the monthly Timepiece newsletter. If you don’t currently receive the newsletter, you can still send in your $10 with your name, address, and birthday and we will get you in our system. I would like to once again thank Rex and Judy Slingsby for their generous donation that allowed us to purchase a new water bottle filling station. Everyone loves using the new station and as an added bonus we have already saved over 200 plastic bottles from the landfill!
The Manistique Senior Center will be hosting our second Senior Movies & Popcorn event, Thursday, January 25th starting at 1:00 pm. We will be screening the 2022 George Clooney and Julia Roberts film where a man and his ex-wife race to Bali, Indonesia to stop their daughter from marrying a seaweed farmer. As they desperately try to sabotage the wedding, the bickering duo soon find themselves rekindling old feelings that once made them happy together. Due to licensing rules, we are unable to advertise the title of the film, but you are more than welcome to give us a call to find out the title! During the movie we will be providing coffee, water, and popcorn free of charge to all attendees. We hope to have you join us on January 25th!
We have a special card-making class coming up after the first of the year. Join us on January 17th, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 pm and learn how to make your own greeting cards. You will make three to five cards during the class and all supplies will be furnished by the Senior Center.
Do you like to play cards, board games, or dominoes? We have had a few different people inquire about playing games like euchre, cribbage, pinochle, mahjong and others. If you are interested in getting one of these games started at the Senior Center stop down or give us a call!
Are you a resident of Schoolcraft County? Are you 60+ years of age? Do you reside in a single-family home? If so, you qualify to receive reimbursements this winter to help offset the cost of snow removal. Stop down to the Manistique Senior Center to learn more about the program and fill out an application to participate in the 2023-2024 Senior Snow Removal Program.
